So what have you got to loose? The benefits of finding your dream job far outweigh the "costs" of discovering what career will set you free.
How does career coaching work? Well, there's no better way of explaining how to find a career that fits you than to show you some case histories. **(all names have been changed for anonymity).
George** had been working in the insurance field for some years. He had worked his way to a quite senior role, but still he knew that he wasn't quite happy with his job and wasn't motivated any more to go any further up the ladder. With just one coaching session we found that he loved brainstorming and working through a problem, he thoroughly enjoyed seeing a project from start to finish (though he didn't get much of a chance to do that in the insurance world) and he thrived on working with poeple. Knowing this and a few other things, we worked out that a career in Project management encompassed all the things he loved. From here we worked out a strategy to get him there. The transition was relatively easy and now he's very happy going to work in the mornings.
Sarah** was working as an IT Analyst in a rapidly growing company. There were aspects of the job that she loved and other parts that were just mundane. She wanted to make a difference, though what that difference was, she wasn't quite sure of. She knew she wanted to study further and was in a comfortable enough position with money to allow herself to work 15 hours a week and study at the same time. We looked at where she wanted to be 5 years from now and chunked that back to now. This gave her a step by step process of how she was going to get from a to b. Now, a year and a half later, Sarah is setting up her own business (which was her 5 year goal) and is "making a difference."

1st / 2nd session – Values. What do you want in a job? What’s most important to you? Until you know what you want then how will you know when you’ve found your ideal job or how will you know what to look for?
Also, do your life values match your work values or are you out of synch, as such, with yourself?
For example, ambition and success may top the priorities in work and work/life balance may be most important in life, so how do you match these opposing values in your life? By making sure that you are ticking all the boxes, that you’re satisfying both your ambitions and your work/life balance while still maintaining a status quo. Clients will learn how to set goals according to these values.
Look at how to get where you want without compromising your quality of life.
3rd session – Interview techniques & CV writing.
We will prepare answers to questions such as:
- Why do you want this job?
- Why do you want to work for this company?
- What are your best and worst attributes?
Interview do's and dont's.
