Reiki FAQ

The Reiki treatment:

How long is a session?
A session can last for anything between and hour and an hour and a half, depending on the
healing that's needed.

What happens during a session?
You will be lying on a plinth with blankets over you for the duration. Many clients fall asleep
or simply drift off to the relaxing music that's been played. I will place my hands either
directly on the body or slight above in certain hand positions. You may feel a slight tingling,
yourselfjumping, a flow of energy like an electric current or nothing at all. Either way the
Reiki energy will be flowing to you.

Do I have to take my clothes off?
No, clients remain fully clothed throughout though they make take off their shoes for comfort.

I've heard some bad press about Reiki, is it true?
Everything in Reiki is done through what we call "love and light" .There is no room for
anything other than that in Reiki. Also, the ethics of Reiki are so deeply ingrained in both
myself and all my students as well as other Reiki practitioners, that anytime I do Reiki on
someone, my intention is always to provide healing for the highest good of that person.
Reiki can never be used for harm, only good.

How many session will I need?
That depends on the person and their life at that moment. If there is physical dis-ease
within the body then a series of sessions over a number of weeks would be advisable.
For stress relief, approximately 4 sessions over 6 weeks as well as some lifestyle
changes would be recommended. Otherwise we will come up with a strategy
that works for both your time available and your budget.

Reiki Courses / Attunements:

I've done Reiki Level 1, can I change teachers and do Reiki Level 2 with
you?
Absolutely. It's very important to be comfortable with your teacher no matter
what course you are doing and especially with Reiki. You can do all three levels
with three different teachers.

I didn't do Reiki with you, can I join your Reiki Share?
Absolutely, the more the merrier!

What type of Reiki do you teach and practise?
The Classic Usui system - Usui Shiki Ryoho.
This refers to Reiki of the Hayashi lineage.  This can include Reiki in the Hayashi-
Takata Lineage.  It is the most common practice of Reiki in the western world.
