What is mindfulness?
If you wish to deal with stress and anxiety, learn how to manage random, negative and chaotic thoughts, sleep better, build confidence, tune into your gut feeling and participate in your life then Mindfulness is for you.
Mindfulness is the practice of bringing your attention to the present moment with full acceptance and non-judgement. It lets us absorb the richness of the moment instead of going through life with half of our attention on the past or future or our own mental chatter.
During this 8 week mindfulness course you will be re-training yourself to live more in the moment, deal stress, anxiety, worry etc and live your best life. Much like we exercise our physical body to be fit and healthy, mindfulness is training for our minds. It takes time and patience, and much like going to the gym, the more that you put into it the more you will get out of it.
"I highly recommend Ellen's classes - they are a lovely way to both learn about and experience meditation in a beautiful calming atmosphere - I was sorry when the course was over!
“A great way to give yourself time for just you , makes you realize the little steps you can take to help yourself be a better happier version of you.”
"On starting the 8 week course I was hoping to make some improvement to my compassion and the way I was responding to others in my life.I got so very much more and feel that I have started on a life long journey of discovery, I can recommend this course to any and every one."
It is one of the most scientifically tested forms of Meditation and the results are compelling. Currently there are over 3,000 research articles on Mindfulness and there are many more experiments in the pipeline.
Neuroscientists have discovered that after just 8 weeks of mindfulness practice, the brain literally changes shape. They have found changes in the cerebral cortex, in the hippocampus and in the amygdala all indicating that we become: happier, more focused, more compassionate (to ourselves and others), better able to deal with anxiety and stress.
They found that learning becomes easier and we are better able to remember. They also found that mindfulness slows down the ageing process!

“I met Ellen at previous events where she had given an introduction to Mindfulness, she always made me curious and once I decided to make that journey to find out more about Mindfulness I knew that it was going to be with Ellen. The experience over the last 8 weeks has been wonderful, each week learning and practicing something new. It has thought me to live and enjoy today, don't worry about the past and the future well that is not here yet!
"I started this journey to help me on my journey to recover from chronic fatigue. engaging in meditation and mindfulness helped me with my energy levels and just learning to relax and be in the moment! "Ellen's 8 week mindfulness course is life changing. It taught me self-compassion for the first time in my life - how to speak to myself like a good friend. It taught me the power of staying in the moment and the uselessness of worrying about things I cannot change. I'm so excited to have started my mindfulness journey and am more positive now about the road ahead"
"Practising mindfulness made me realise that there is a level of calmness which most of us never get to experience in our daily lives because we don't know how to gain access to."
"The 8 week course with Ellen was just fantastic. It has given me the opportunity to take time out and focus on myself and my emotional feelings as well as my body. Truly a wonderful course, cannot recommend to too highly."
"In the hectic world we all seem to inhabit now, the capacity to sideline the daily 'noise' to find some peacefulness at any given moment is a goal worth setting. Ellen Shilling's approach to being mindful is the first step in reaching that goal."
